![]() ![]() Not to a fault of mechanicus as it was smaller game. Originally posted by Anaturn:way better than mechanicus. I quit playing for now because I didn't want to run out my refund period. Best part was being repeatedly forced to lay down overwatch then also forced to watch enemies stroll through it, take piddling damage, and kill my soldiers. The tutorial managed to be extremely hand-holding while somehow also uninformative. I rarely skip cinematics, but these were so tedious and dull so I skipped a few. If Chaos Marines were the baseline enemies here, it would make more sense, but no, storm bolters and power armor struggle to compete with flak armor and autoguns. Here, the finest of the Astartes trade fire with random cultists and come out the worse for it. Necrons are strange and deadly, and while your tech-priests are powerful combatants, your filler troops are less potent, and there's a relatively lore friendly power balance. Would have made more sense if they just picked up a fireteam at most.ģ. ![]() Grey Knights might take orders from an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor they were assigned to, but for a relatively low ranking inquisitor (not a Lord Inquisitor) to requisition an entire Grey Knight vessel seems bizarre. A random inquisitor commandeers a Grey Knight vessel in defiance of a tech-priest's recommendation? That doesn't jive well with the classic relationships between the three factions. Guns sound flimsy, dialogue has an inconsistent tone between 40k drama and just people talking, and visuals don't feel quite right.Ģ. Again, all these things could be done not as well as Mechanicus and still be good, but they mostly aren't. Design is average to mediocre here, where Mechanicus had stellar design. I'm not saying it's bad, because something could still be pretty good and not be as amazing as Mechanicus was.ġ. ![]()
